Clean Coonoor : My Experience

I had signed myself up for the Clean Coonoor group. There were more people who had volunteered too. They go around and pick up waste on the road to keep the roads of Coonoor safe and clean. Today we worked in small groups. Glass bottles here and plastic covers there. We had many bags and divided the waste between plastic, metals, glass, and paper. I had a bag for plastic and a rake to get trash from places you couldn’t reach. They also distributed gloves and hand sanitizer to keep us safe.

Some areas were really adventurous. Some areas were really boring. I was the youngest in the group which was pretty cool. By the end of the clean-up we had over 75 bags that were full which means everyone who dumped trash should not feel good about throwing plastic, paper, metal and glass.

Conversations during clean up were hillareas ( haha , get it??) If you are in a conversation the things that would have been said are ``Can I have the rake``, ``Do you have the plastic or glass bag`` and ``Can you go and get more bags``.

There were a few snacks such as Juice, Tea, Bondas and fruits. It was quite fun now that I think of it. The Clean Coonoor initiative gave me a good feeling at the end.
