Food Journey

Having lived in Coonoor all my life (i.e 8 years … ;)) and being a foodie I have been to almost every restaurant in and around Coonoor. If you want to know were to go i am right here! Look down at the list below and you shall know my recommendations.

• Culinarium: this place is in Ketti(between Coonoor & Ooty). This restaurant is a very good place to go if you are interested in mediterrnean and continental food! i recommend the Quiche, fish and chips, sausage rolls and definitely don’t miss their ICE-CREAM!! Well this is what i usually have but my family loves the bruschetta, piccata and pot pies.

• Open Kitchen: this place is one of the first pizzerias in Coonoor. The breakfast special with egg(well done) is my favourite and don’t forget to try the Bacon Bomb! All the pizzas are good with very different toppings. The ambiance of the place is very cool! Its filled with MOVIE POSTERS!!!! WHO CAN SPOT BRUCE LEE FIRST?!?!

• Cafe Diem: About 4 kms from Sims park this place is a must visit and one of my favorites. My family loves the pizzas, savoury tarts, salads and all the starters. Basically everything on the menu is great. But im happy with pumpkin soup and lemon tart. That fills me up and i nibble on everything else. This restaurant is vegetarian and i LOVE my non-vegetarian but i still love the food here. Have a wonderful view!

• Hopscotch: This is a pub so, I am not really allowed in there but i have eaten there. I love the pizzas, corn dogs, nachos and the music (music is food for the soul but don’t order it.) If you like singing you can go up and sing!

• Jharoka: great indian-chinese food. The dragon chicken is a must try.

• Orchid Square: best kathi rolls EVER!!

• Chaiwala: My family loves the chaat here, i like the theplas, i am not much of a chaat person.
